I know people with invisible illnesses with conditions such as tinnitus and Fibromyalgia. One of my friends prefers outdoor venues because the sound has more space to travel than within an enclosed venue, this is a more comfortable environment for her due to her gradual hearing loss. This particular friend of mine brings her own folding chair to outdoor standing events. Outdoor events do provide an area for people with limited mobility needs and wheelchair users, but at events such as festivals, available spaces can be on a ‘first come, first served basis’. So many people with ‘invisible illnesses’ can be left standing.
